Charles Williams REIC honored as Best Management Company for the state of Georgia
April 25, 2007 - The Charles Williams Real Estate and Investment Company was recently honored at the 25th Annual Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association, SAHMA, as Best Management Company for the State of Georgia. Carriage Apartments, located in Calhoun and which is owned and managed by Charles Williams REIC, was honored as BestProperty (Family) in Georgia. Charles S. Williams, Jr. serves as owner/CEO of the company and M. Gardner Williams serves as owner/Vice President of Asset Management. Their combined leadership continues to direct this company to achieve positive recognition in the propertymanagement field.
The Best Management Company honor is given by the Georgia HAP (Housing Assistance Payment) Administrators, Inc. who contract with HUD to oversee affordable housing and who recognizes the management company who has demonstrated outstanding efforts in providing superior affordable housing. The award criteria includes initiatives that provide quality of life improvements; encouraging effective referral and/or support services linking relevant agencies to their clients, providing excellence in management and maintenance practices. The company continues to implement ongoing educational and training to it’s staff promoting the quality service to their clients and housing needs of the community. The Best Property (Family) honor is also given by the Georgia HAP Administrators, Inc. Recognized in this category are owner, managing agent, and on-site personnel who have demonstrated outstanding efforts in providing superior affordable housing. The criteria focus’ on: A property with strong aesthetic appearance, a property with exceptional and continual interior and exterior maintenance of the overall property, ongoing positive tenant/management relations. Additional criteria include impressive knowledge and compliance of HUD regulatory requirements, superior ratings on annual Management and Occupancy Review conducted by Georgia HAP and a property with a physical inspection score of 90 and above as scored by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Real Estate Assessment Center.
Jackie Christian serves Carriage Apartments as on-site manager and has been with Charles Williams REIC for the past four years. With an extensive experience in multi-family housing, Ms. Christian has created an excellent rapport between management and the residents which has resulted in no resident complaints of record. She continues to lead this property in a positive manner working with Frank Terpening, who serves as maintenance personnel and continues to keep the Carriage Apartment community in excellent physical condition.
