The 90's - Key events for Charles Williams REIC:
1991 - Created Winthrop Childcare Academy, located at Winthrop Court. It is currently leased to a local operator.
1993 - Rehabilitation of Historical Greystone Hotel in downtown Rome to Greystone Apartments. Syndicated through B. Capitol, this 71 unit community is designed for senior, handicapped and disabled living and is owned and managed by Charles Williams REIC.
1995 - Winthrop at Broad Oaks. CWREIC purchased and renovated a historical home in Cave Spring, GA for the purpose of housing 10-12 residents with Alzheimers. 1997 - CWREIC purchased RiverBend Mall with other local business partners. They renovated the retail mall info medical office building. It was sold to local retail developer.
1997 - Joint venture with Floyd Medical Center called the Altoona Home Healthcare CON for Bartow and Cherokee Counties.
1998 - Acquired Horseleg Creek Country Club and Estates, Rome, GA. a full service country club and tennis facility. Developed 14 acres of 22 high-end residential home sites.
1998 - Winthrop at Cobb - Development as a joint venture with Regent Partners of Atlanta, GA. The property was leased up and managed by Winthrop. This 60 unit assisted living community with 14 unit Alzheimer’s specialty care area was successfully leased and managed for over seven years. The property was sold to Carlyle Group in August, 2005.
1999 - Development and management of Winthrop at Tucker Senior Living, in Tucker GA. Partnered with McNabb Group, LLC, . It was purchased by the Carlyle Group in August 2005.
